Documentation Centre's History

 

 The National Documentation Centre was first established in 1982 under the Ministry of Finance and was later centralized and placed within the Ministry of Education under the Department of Libraries,

Archives and Documentation Services to contribute toward the improvement of the information infrastructure in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It is housed in the National Archives and Documentation Centre building.

The Centre is responsible for collecting, organizing and disseminating publications produced by local government departments. The Centre’s collection is also regionally and internationally based.
Magazines, journals, calendars, conference proceedings and dissertations are also part of the Centre’s Collection.

The focus is to provide scholarly information of a social and economic nature for the use of researchers from government ministries.
